Recent experience
I have over 12 years of experience in a wide range of industries. My current position is with Oak National Academy a non-departmental public body, sponsored by the Department of Education, providing free online learning resources to teachers and pupils. Before that I was with Udemy, an online education company connecting millions of students to the skills they need to succeed. I worked there for four years creating experiences for their business customers, helping them get the maximum value from the curated selection of courses & learning tools available to top organisations worldwide.

My approach
- Outcome orientated: Focusing on outcomes throughout a project lifecycle is key to achieving goals. I do this by defining and aligning on a goal & key metrics with my team and stakeholders, understanding the perspective of people using the product/service, and regularly reflecting on progress as a team.
- User-centred: I have included customers and stakeholders during the design process of a number of projects, using methods like interviewing, surveys and analytics, ensuring decisions are based on evidence (collected by myself or in collaboration with researchers and data scientists).
- Collaborative facilitator: I have designed and facilitated workshops & design sprints, to support multidisciplinary teams to align on goals, explore solutions, co-design and reflect on process. I am also an advocate for 'continuous improvement' running team retros to help improve working processes.
- Agile prototyper: My prototyping methods include sketches, low fidelity Figma designs and higher fidelity Figma mock-ups. I believe in getting feedback early and often and iterate based on insights gained through user-research and stakeholder reviews.
- Accessibility advocate: I have actively advocated for accessibility within my most recent team and wider design function group. I have worked directly with accessibility analysts, and have produced a range of accessible designs adhering to WCAG2.1 level AA.
